Touch Screens continually fail due to poor design

Last year, I took our Russel Hobbs filter coffee machine back to Hirsch's (Hyde Park) as it was doing strange things. The whole issue went back and forth a few times and eventually Russel Hobbs replaced the machine. The issue was (and is) related to the fact that the electronic display starts fluctuating and the machine becomes unusable. I believe the issue is the design is flawed and I have stated as much in the past. Here is a video that I shot at about 05:20 this morning when I was making coffee for breakfast. (Attached). So yet again, this morning, what do I see? The problem resuming.

We bought a couple of these machines, one to use at home, and one for Brenda to use in her office and my only comment is total disappointment with this as an appliance. The touch screen idea is, in my opinion, a significant fail. And the only time this machine is plugged in and used is around breakfast time, when I make coffee for the two of us and rare occasions when we have after dinner coffee if we are entertaining, so it doesn't get overused. Personally I prefer a filter coffee machine which you can switch on with an actual switch. I do not believe that this product reflects the so-called quality that you proudly announce on your Facebook media page.
