Terrible blender experience

I was given a Russell Hobbs blender for christmas in 2015. I was extremely excited as its what i had been wanting for a long time and knew the Russell Hobbs brand was a reputable brand. However i was mistaken, after using the blender for roughly the 5th time it stopped working and gave off a terrible electrical smell. I took the blender back to Hirschs where it was purschased to get the unit fixed as it was still in garantee. The unit was fixed and given back to me, i thought id test it and make a soothie as thats what its purpose is. I turned it on and literally a second into blending the unit stopped working and again smelt of electrical burn. I couldnt believe this could be possible. I took the unit back to Hirschs again and told them i dont want the unit and would either like a refund or a brand new unit as clearly the unit was faulty. They informed me they would need to send the blender back to Russell Hobbs for assessment before they could refund me. I then recieved a call and was told that i would need to pay for the unit to be fixed. I am dissapointed in the service Russell Hobbs has provided me. The unit has been faulty twice in a one year gaurentee period and they still expect me to pay for the replacements of parts on a unit that obviously has got faults.
