Not impressed

I would like to share my experience buying a product (Russel Hobbs Fan) from your company via Takealot. The fan was purchased 6 Nov 2020. The advert advertised 24 month limited warranty. In fact that advert was still in play recently. The fan motor started to battle to start up. Item was returned to Takealot. Takealot returned item to you. Better part of 3 weeks and multiple emails later, a quote comes through for "large item". Well I am not clever so I don't know what a large item is nor how you call that a repair or in fact quote large item with a value?. So when queried, I am suddenly drawn to third party rules ******* of Takealot suppliers(Takealot please note my agreement was concluded with you as you took payment so you cannot really hide behind legal jargon), and then informed because I never went online to register product it only has a 12 month and is out if warranty. So I am assuming that at time of purchase where it was advertised 24 months( with no wording in advert about registering product) means the warranty although limited is worth nothing if item is failing outside 12 months. Anyway, box gets delivered today. My original wrapping stuffed onto top of items inside. So covers, blades and weight, stand and support all dumped on each other and then wrapping thrown on top. Great job...now in transit the fan blade is warped. Again anyway, we get to assemble and start the fan the oscillation pin wobbles and motor makes a weird noise. ***. So what was repaired? I cannot tell you...no invoice, no repair note , and I actually have no idea. Great job. Takealot bought the item from you. I bought from Takealot so the ums and ahs between the companies should not be my issue. I bought and paid for an item that carried a brand name and paid for the warranty advertised. So why as the end user am I penalized? The repair done is bull. And the packaging worse. And what really aggravated me is that you play on words. So here's some words that perhaps other readers can use to help them, should it happen to them..... The warranty falls to you. The item was advertised as 24 month warranty, and no attention or wording on the public website stipulated that I as the consumer had to do anything in order for the warranty to be honored. I am sure that CPA specifically stipulates that events need to be fair and I believe what has been done is called short changing a client.

After receiving the mails from Camlene I had thought yeh right this will never happen. Camlene, you surprised me. You took ownership of the issue and saw it through from start to finish. Thank you. Bidvest should acknowledge the difficulties you face with clients like me and in addition should recognise the value you add to the business unit. Camlene, you followed up, made things happen and found the resolution. Thank you.
