dishonors values

I purchased a russel hobbs kettle from boardmans one year ago. The kettle started sounding different as well as the top broke of. Today i returned it to boardmans to find that the warranty expired on the 10th of july and because it is 8 days later they would not exachange or fix it under warranty.

I expressed my dissapointment and the sales lady contacted Dorcus at Russel Hobbs who said that she cant guarantee anything she needs to see the kettle first. How on earth must I boil water while Dorcus checks out the kettle? I left emberessed with broken kettle under my arm. I am dum struck that the kettle was manufactured to break right after warranty expired but more perplexed by Russel Hobbs response.

Russel Hobbs claims simplicity and great affordable price, but its effort and R1000 for a kettle is not great affordable price for the type of quality (breaks after a year although the box guarantees 3 years).

I have been a loyal customer of various of your products for years but this was the last straw.
