Bad product

Good day. A while ago I desided to purchase a new steam iron, and after shopping around on the web and in shops desided on the ceraglide. The other day I dropped my iron and to my surprise found the the soleplate is made from Aluminium NOT caramic as displayed on the iron and box and internet, why would this be? Regards A Schutte.
