overstate recommended retail prices to make offers seem good

<p>Aside from the fact that after 2 phone calls, one email and two attempts to online chat I had zero response to advice I was seeking, the biggest problem with this business is that it overstates original prices of items in order to make their price appear attractive. example in point is the Celestron 114LCM telecope which they claim has a recommended retail price of R11 220 and they offer it at R8200 - a massive discount of just over R3000. The reality is quite different. No other retailer online or otherwise sells this item for more than R7999 and at Takealot it is actually R5994. So their so called special price is well in excess of what you can buy it for elsewhere. False advertising.</p> <p>They also claim to not be resposible for any misrepresentation of product either before or after you buy. So they can change whats included or what they claim are the features and benefits of a product and not be accountable - violation of consumer rights.</p> <p>I wouldnt recommend buying from them and I buy a LOT online as I live in an area well outside cities where specialised goods are not easily available. </p> <p> </p>
