WORST AFTER-SALES CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Probably the worst after-sales customer service I've experienced. I bought an inverter and after 1 week we had issues. I attempted to resolve the issue of the faulty product with the assistance I received from my qualified and approved electrician, as well as two approved MECER technicians.
Techhut offered me a replacement inverter of an inferior brand, but I am not pleased with the brand of the inverter and declined their offer. Their suggested replacement product is also R3’000.00 more expensive than a similar product which I can source locally in Johannesburg.
I notified the Techhut Sales Manager on 02/02/2023 that I would prefer a refund and purchase my own inverter locally. I was then informed by Techhut they will not refund me due to their supplier giving them a credit note and not a refund.
Considering all the issues I experienced, and the inconvenience caused by this faulty product since November 2022, I believe that Techut’s response is not a fair response to my request and neither reasonable negotiation.
I have sent multiple emails to the Sales Manager (Bhavna Jaikaran) and the Techhut Owner (Kesh Pundit) requesting feedback on my refund. In addition, I have also messaged them on their Client's WhatsApp contact number and received no response. This is a clear indication that Techhut is deliberately avoiding me and their responsibilities to a consumer.
I do not recommend doing business with this company. They are quick to take your money, but don't respond when they provide customers with faulty products.
For any customer in the same position, Techhut's Refund Policy is not aligned with the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa. Based on the CPA are you permitted to return your faulty product up to 6 months after receiving goods and request a refund. In addition, you are not responsible for any shipping cost. Techhut is ignoring the CPA rules and regulations.
