Taxify is a ****!

I am really appalled with the Taxify service. I am a first time Taxify user and was given a promo code to use as a first ride.

Appreciating the R100 discount off my ride, I thought it would be ideal to use to the airport from Cape Town CBD.

I requested the Taxify and I noticed a R100 went off my credit card. Assuming this was the promo code amount, I requested the ride on a normal Taxify vehicle.

Being a regular Uber customer, I am aware that the average cost to the airport is around R180. However at the end of my Taxify trip and to the horror of both the driver and I, the trip was billed for R279!!!!!

Firstly the Taxify was not a luxury vehicle, but an ordinary Toyota Corolla. I left my flat on a Sunday and there was NO TRAFFIC hence there could not have been extra charges. The driver was horrified as he explained he has done many trips to the airport and it’s never been that amount!

Taxify is a ****, they billed me an extra R100 to aid the promo code and charged me a normal price of which any other Taxi would.

The true amount billed should’ve only been R79! However both the R100 and the R179 went off my card!

********! Please don’t use Taxify. Stick to the safer Uber!
