Taxify/ Bolt risky business

My brother was requested by a man at Bara taxi rank and when he got there two men got into the car. They were apparently going to Protea Glen but when they got to where he had to turn into Protea Glen, which was on the outskirts of the suburb, one of them told him that they'd changed their minds and that they'd decided to go to Randfontein. They then told him to drive straight ahead and that's when he realised their ********** intentions. They then told him to turn left into Bekkersdal when the man in the backseat pulled out a gun and pointed it at him. They then took him to the bushes behind the mine there where they spent more than three hours searching for a tracking device of the car. They then released him and drove off in the car with his phone in the car. They apparently accepted trips with his phone today using his driver app and they made R270. When we tried to call the number that they'd used for requesting the ride, it was the on voicemail and it is still on voicemail.

This goes to show that Taxify is not concerned about the safety of its drivers and its riders. These people could have easily committed a serious crime and endangered the life of a rider just as it did their driver, which in this case was my brother. These people are obviously non-existent on their system and they will probably carry on committing the same crime only using a different sim card with a different number. I am definitely concerned as a rider and as someone who has relatives in this business. Their incompetence and unprofessionalism can easily cost some people their lives and more people to lose their valuables that they've worked hard for. This needs to stop and something seriously needs to be done about the drivers' and riders' security. When people know that they can be easily traced, then maybe they wouldn't be committing such crimes on a daily basis.
