SERIOUS ACCIDENT INVOLVING TAXIFY/BOLT VEHICLE IN FERNDALE, RANDBURG

After my wife was involved in a serious accident on her way home from work on Tuesday evening, purely caused by the reckless and negligent driving of a #taxify/#bolt driver by the name of Emeka Kingsley Ukachukwu, I sent the below email to Taxify/Bolt (because they conveniently don’t have a contact number).

I also sent a similar private Facebook message to the Operations Manager, Linda Mahloko.

We would have sent the same message to the Country Manager, Gareth Taylor, but we were unable to find any contact details for him

We are yet to receive even an acknowledgement from Taxify/Bolt…

We also, unsurprisingly, didn’t see a single #SAPS or #JMPD cop, despite having called 10111 (the emergency number so frequently advertised) and despite being less than 1km from the Randburg Police Station. The result being that the reckless and negligent driver who put several lives at risk (including the unborn child of his pregnant passenger) will not be ********ly charged.

If you’ve ever thought of trying Taxify/Bolt PLEASE first consider the below as well as several other complaints that can be found online!

“Good afternoon

We need to give someone in charge the rundown of a serious accident that occured yesterday afternoon in Ferndale.

A Taxify driver came speeding down the on coming lane in peek hour traffic on Oxford street and managed to roll his vehicle which smashed into my wife's vehicle and side swiped a third vehicle in the process.

He had a young pregnant lady in the back of his vehicle who had to be rushed to hospital. God willingly, everyone seemed to walk away with minor injuries.

I tried to get the police to come to the scene, but 'surprise suprise' they didn't pitch up and the tow truck drivers (scavengers) were quick to clear the accident scene.

I have attached some pictures of the vehicle involved as I think it would be in your best interest to do your own investigation. All the parties involved and the witnesses have made statements as of this morning.

You cannot let this driver continue to work for your business. He is reckless and negligent and the next incident he causes may not have the same outcome.

The driver could not produce his drivers license to me at the scene as be claimed that it was in the wreckage. However, I do have the vehicle details, his contact number, passport photo, etc.

Please see attached photographs of the vehicle and details of the taxify/bolt driver in question.

My wife has been booked off work for the rest of the week and is currently experiencing terrible pain of the upper back, neck and shoulder.

We would appreciate it if someone in senior management could contact us and provide the necessary information regarding the driver and owner of the vehicle for insurance purposes.
