I have a story to tell! Taxify does not deserve your money.
As the investigation is on going, I will not use precise details. I took a taxify in Joburg from point A to B. I used a card to pay. The estimate for the trip was R43-R54. The driver used a longer route to make me pay more. I had luggage which I put in his boot. This included clothes, Macbook pro, university qualification , bank cards, ID,drivers license and many other things. When I arrived at my destination, I asked the driver how much the trip is with the hope that he will end the trip. He did not. He just said R90, I reluctantly said okay and exited the car. Before I got my stuff from the boot, he sped off. I was in shock. I tried to call the number call him and no luck. The number always goes to voicemail. This happened on a Saturday. I sent taxify an email and also messages via the app. NO RESPONSE from them. I did not expect such an event so I only memorised HD44 as the number plate. I checked on the receipt and also no number plate is listed but his name appears there. I then opened a case against the driver. Monday morning I go to their offices to report the matter. I'm told the policy is not to give out the drivers(********) information but I managed to get the rest of the number plate. I do my own digging and I find the ****** info. I hope the drivers account gets deactivated forever from taxify. Reason I say this is he was still operating on Monday according to their system. I will not rest until he is behind bars and I get my stuff or it is replaced. The depression I have felt over this and the inconvenience it has caused me is unbearable. Advice- when you take an taxify or uber, and you put your stuff in the boot, make sure your exit strategy enables you to get off with all your belongings. 2) Always memorise the number plate. 3) Avoid this car HD44CP GP, Nissan Almera, drivers (********) name is Raymond Mokgele. ( he should be exposed so I included his details.
