I had a horrible experience on Saturday evening the 2nd of June 2018. I made I a Taxify request the driver (Mpho Letswalo) phone me to out where I am going and if i will wait for him,i told him it time estimate said he would be here in 12mins so I will obviously wait he said okay this was at 19:43. At 19:52 it said the driver has arrived but thanks to the Taxify technicians for an advanced app because I could see that he was still down the road on 5th street and not at my location so I was surprised that the to see that my trip has already started yet I am not even in the car I could she that as after is said driver has arrived it said I am 20mins away from arriving Home. At 19:56 he phoned to tell me that he has arrived at my pick up point I then told him I am outside the church he said I should wait for him at the street where he will be able to see me I told him I am already waiting as I had been waiting for over 5mins when the app said the driver has arrived. He arrived by me at 20:02 and he apologized for being impatient as he thinks he is probably gonna be ******...he probably said that because my church is located in a bit of an isolated area. I said it okay as we are about to start that our trip together I notice that his phone is already navigating him and at no point did he press start trip. I noticed this because I was very anxious of what I saw earlier. I told him that I have a concern that the trip was started 10mins ago he rep**** "its probably a Taxify problem they will fix it" I told but it is going to affect my expenditure on the trip he again rep**** "if that's the case I suggested I drop you off now and you can do another request." I told him with pleasure because we are already fighting so to avoid fighting when we get to my destination because chances are I won't have the money it will charge me as I did the estimate and I budgeted according to it. He said he must his patrol to driver to me and he asked me how was the estimate I said R110-R145 he said it can't be he just took a guy from Rockville (Soweto) to not far from my church (where he was when he got my request) and it was R185 he said so mine can't be that like... He slowed down the car saying he is going to do the estimate on his end. I told him I had to be somewhere can he please drive he said to me "No sister, wena o nale mathata" meaning I have serious problems. We didn't talk to each other the whole trip, was just listening to boring music so I decided to be busy with my phone and I kept telling him where to turn only. When we got home he ended to trip and place his phone next to the gear lever didn't bother the at least say "Hi your trip is x amount" nor switch on the light so that I could able to take out the money in my bag. I had to ask him to switch on the light I still could not find the money due to lack of light. I asked if can I go get the money in the house I went in the house took out money from the same bag I had in the car and gave him his money. Before I gave him the money I asked him what his estimate said he said R135-185. I told him I have never ever played his amount I can even show him on my email as I use Taxify most from church to home and the other way. I left then he hooted and when I looked at him he pointed the back seat and I recall I left my stuff in there I got it and said thank you and he drove off.
This was the worst most horrible stinking attitude I have ever experienced from a Taxify driver. I believed that Taxify trains the drivers on how threat clients but after what I experienced it's like you just pick up anyone who wasn't to make money regardless if they are competent to deal with people nor manage people because they always in the eye of the public and they are Taxify. When we see them we see Taxify not an independent driver.
