DRIVER CONDUCT

My fiancé (Michael) and his mates got a ride from DZUNISANI EEN on 8 April 2019. Michael accidently forgot our house keys in the car when they got dropped off but didn’t realize that the keys were missing till the next day. When he arrived home we had to ask our land lady to open the gate and disarm the alarm since he had ‘lost’ our only set of keys. Naturally i was quite distraught, so when i called Mr Dzunisani and he informed me that he had indeed found my keys i was (as you might imagine) incredibly relieved. I was even happier when he told me he would drop off the keys that same day.

Here is where the issue comes in.

As soon as Mr Dzunisani confirmed he had my keys he asked me if i would compensate him for driving here to drop off the keys (which i deemed fair). He informed me that i must contact him after 5 so we can arrange the exchange. At 17h01 he called me to inform me that he was 5 min away from my house. This made me assume that he had a fare nearby and that he was already in the neighborhood. He also demanded to know how much petrol money i was going to give him when he arrived. I asked how much the trip here cost and his reply was: “how much are you willing to pay?”. Michael was not home from work yet and had all our bank cards with him, and (since i was basically locked in my yard all day) I had no cash on me at all. I informed Mr Dzunisani of this but he still insisted that i pay him something. Even enquiring which bank i banked with so i could ewallet him the money. I bank with Capitec so that wasn’t an option. I offered to pay him via eft once my fiancé returned home but he declined, asking me how that helps him now.

He arrived at my gate at around 17h10.He handed me my keys and then refused to leave till Michael got back. I felt incredibly uncomfortable with the situation as i was home alone. Luckily a friend of mine, who is an armed response officer, was driving by at the time and stopped to see if i was ok.

Mr Dzunisani left begrudgingly when i offered once again to pay him via eft. (but i strongly suspect that the only reason he left was because of the security officer)

Long story short, it felt like Mr Dzunisani was holding my house keys hostage in order to ****** money from me. I felt threatened and backed into a corner. I do not appreciate being bul**** or intimidated. To put it into perspective i am a 30 year old woman, 1.7m tall and i weigh about 54kg.
