Disappointed
To say I'm disappointed in VW Tavcor William Moffet Port Elizabeth is the understatement of the year! I have owned two VW cars over the past 9 years. First a polo which I bought brand new and now a Golf 6 and I've always serviced it through Tavcor. My last service I has was in December 2017 and it was terrible. Firstly it was a major service at 120k and all they did was change the spark plugs and oil since according to them nothing was wrong with my car. I asked them about a noise which I noticed when I started my car and was told that it was nothing to worry about since most VW turbo cars has that issue. I asked them if the cambelt was going to be replaced and was told that my car doesn't have one it has a cam chain which never needs replacing. A few days later my car made a nice when idling and I took it back. The diagnostic tests came back clear. The issue never went away and I took it back again. I asked them to rather book in my car and check manually. Again they said nothing is wrong but magically the issue disappeared. Then today the exhaust system light came on. I took if for diagnostic tests to an alternative mechanic and was told that the cam chain needs to be replaced and that it should've been done at the 120k service. As per the mechanic a lot more then just spark plugs and oil should have been changed. What has happened to Tavcor's standard of service. I feel like selling my car for anything else. My warranty and service plan expired a few weekseconds go and now I'm sitting with all these problems which should have been sorted out by VW in the first place! I'm sure all that you're going to say is sorry ma'am, am I right? I at least expect VW to fix this. It's the least you can do after 9 years of loyalty. Not to mention the poor service. And here I thought I was being be nice by not complaining about the last service I received.
