Battery Exploded

At the beginning of last year l purchased a new Exide 622 battery from the above supplier. About 8 months later the battery would not hold charge so l connected it to a fast charger. As l watched the ammeter needle coming up, the battery suddenly exploded, spewing sulphuric acid all over me. I returned the battery to Tasmaya Wholesalers but they told me to take it to First National Battery factory. As l live on a plot in the Delmas area l was not able to do this immediately. When l did return the battery to the factory the receptionist told me to take it back to the supplier, which l did the same day. Fortunately the First National Battery representative, Eugene Radyn was there at the time and offered to investigate the matter for me. He asked me to send him an email with all the relevant information, which l did. However despite a few reminders, l have not heard from him to date. I suffered sulphuric acid burns to my face and arms and my clothing was damaged also.
