Tarsus Distributors focused on sales and not service!
So the next time you decide to purchase a good set of quality earphones, you may want to give this a read. Whilst being a strong believer in the quality of the sound from Phillips earphones, I went ahead and purchased a set of the ActionFit Wireless (RunFree) earphones by Phillips. The ear caps (or fit fins as they are called) appears to come loose and eventually after running up and down gym trying to trace them, it eventually got lost. The box came with two sizes of ear caps, and as one can expect, only one set will be suited for your use. After losing both ear caps for my size, I called through to the Tarsus group and spoke to a Greg (Product owner), who mentioned that they do not sell the ear caps separately and that the warranty only covers manufacturing defects. One would think, that the ability of the ear cap to fit on the device should be covered under the warranty, as it obviously does not have a secure fit. So, the next time you purchasing a set of earphones, you may want to give Phillips a pass (even though the sound quality is superb), as the product developers and distributors are concerned only with the sale of the product and not any after-sale service for continued use. I have therefore paid R1100 for a device, for which I have only used for a couple of months.
Thank you for getting in touch with us. We value all the feedback that we receive.
We are sad to hear that you lost your ear caps.
All the information that our Product Manager, Gregg gave you is in line with industry standards:
Philips (and in general, headphone brands) do not carry spares and parts for earphones/headphones. They are classified as OCX products which means they are over-the-counter-exchange lines and they are replaced in store if they are found to have a technical fault while under warranty.
We would not have been able to order in spares as Philips has never carried spares for this or any other earphone/headphone products.
We trust that this find you well.
Warmest regards,
