Refusal to honour warranty
I purchased a Targus laptop bag some time ago under the guise that it had a lifetime warranty against faulty manufacturing. Today I drove to Targus to exchange the bag or have it repaired under this lifetime warranty as the two main zippers are no longer functional. To my surprise I was notified by a warehouse staff member at Targus Midrand dispatch centre that their policy towards their warranties had changed and after handing it over to his supervisor (Jacques), he blatantly told me that the non functioning zipper is not covered by the warranty as it constituted physical damage. He went on to say that the warranty is \limited"- which in their minds means Targus will only honour a claim against the warranty if they feel like it. <br> This is completely unacceptable and indicative of an organisation lacking in the most basic of business ethics and integrity. I would not have purchased this bag at the price I paid for it had I not have been baited by the \""lifetime\"" warranty as there were cheaper alternatives that did not offer this. This is yet another example of a big corporate operating with impunity and thinking they are untouchable. I trust they will put this right immediately."""
