Complaint to my previous Lessee ( TARGER REALTY )

Good day,

My name is Selby Mampane I work as a Telecoms Engineer. I stayed at Erand court ( Midrand ) for 10years 3months. I moved out of the unit in 20 May 2018. I served notice and communicated my intention to vacate to my Account Manager Dianne Mackrell.

I was leasing under the company called TARGER REALTY. The issue I am having is that TARGER are refusing to pay me back my deposit money. My total deposit to TARGER is R6500. I was in arrears of R 2000.

So I was quite aware that those arrears would be deducted from my deposit. I then further enquired on how much I was going to get back from my deposit, Dianne my Account Manager further advised me that they still needed to deduct a contract cancellation fee of R 1100. I said okay fine. She then said by phone call that my deposit refund would be the difference of ( The arrears + contract cancellation fee ). That is roughly R2800.

Subsequent to that a lady by the name of Josephine was sent to my unit to do inspections and after the inspections she said to me everything in the unit was well and in order. She also took a video of the whole thing.

When I eventually asked Dianne Mackrell for my deposit money back I was told No, they must conduct another inspection. I was obviously surprised as Josephine had already done one. I questioned this and was never given a valid reason for this. They sent another gentleman by the name of Vuyo. Vuyo’s inspection came back with costs ( i.e they had to do repairs to the unit ).

As a result TARGER would be further deducting from the R2800 promised to me already. I am writing to the Tribunal because I feel ****** and hard done by TARGER, I believe they are doing everything to milk me of the little money I was expecting from them. How is it that the same company can send two representatives and come back with two different findings? I asked their MD ( Neil Vorster ) this and he could not answer me.

To my displeasure, this is not the first time that something like this has happened. I have been wrongly invoiced by TARGER on more than one occasion on my Rentals and I had to return these wrong invoices to Dianne and Neil to correct. I never really made a big deal out of these incidences because I assumed people make mistakes. But this time I cannot let this one go.

I am now asking Hello Peter to assist me with this. Clearly I am not the first person that this is been done to and certainly not the last. I am seeking justice on this.
