Taquera Log Cabins - Dixon

We engaged this company to build a log cabin based on a recommendation from a friend who had a positive experience with them. Trusting their referral, we hired this company, but unfortunately, our experience has been quite the opposite.

From the very beginning, we experienced ongoing problems that were clearly due to poor workmanship and cheap materials—not tenant damage or normal wear and tear.

Despite repeatedly raising concerns immediately after construction, including issues like poorly installed kitchen cupboards that were falling apart, hinges breaking off, cupboards not properly siliconed together, and countertops peeling—it’s just ridiculous. The builder failed to conduct proper quality inspections or fixes.

There were holes in the walls, mismatched and poor-quality paint, and unfinished sections throughout the structure. These defects made the property look rushed and far below acceptable standards.

Additionally, the windows and their handles are of cheap quality. The handles literally fall off when you open the window gently, without any force. The *****s simply fall out. We have raised this concern multiple times, but no proper repairs have been made.

When the shower was used for the very first time, water leaked from underneath because things weren’t sealed properly. The drain and pipes were poorly installed, causing water to seep out under the shower, leading to dampness on the floor and mold growth.

The fixtures for washing machines were cheap, of poor quality, and improperly installed—just terrible overall.

Photos, videos, and detailed complaints were shared from day one, showing the substandard condition and construction defects that existed before any tenants moved in. The company often failed to personally inspect or attend to our repair requests, sending others who did not resolve the issues.

While they accepted full payment without hesitation, they have since ignored our repeated requests to properly address and repair the serious defects caused by their workmanship and the low-quality materials used.

It is unfair and inaccurate for them to blame tenants for the damage when all evidence clearly shows these problems were present from the start. We feel let down by the lack of accountability and professionalism and do not recommend this builder based on our experience.

We want to warn others about our experience with this company. The workmanship was clearly rushed and unfinished, resulting in a property that looks poorly constructed and far below acceptable standards. Despite providing extensive photos and detailed complaints, these issues were never properly addressed.

We are extremely disappointed by the lack of quality and professionalism. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this builder and advise caution if you are considering their services.
