Bad experience with a log cabin.
My sister started dealing with Taquera Cabins about a year ago. As she was overseas, I did a lot of the liasing with them on her behalf. From the beging Dixon, the owner seemed very helpful and professional. They started the build at the beginning of February and all seemed to be going well. Due to some delays caused by issues with the plumber/electrician they didn't finish completely but the on site supervisor, called Energy made several faithful promises to return and finish the work. That's where everything went wrong. When we queried when they would return, Energy denied promising to return an said he never made any promise to return. This was despite me having an SMS message where he says he will confirm the return date. Dixon said they didn't promise to come back and it was our word against theirs. All attempts to contact Taquera were to no avail. I tried by several phone calls, several e-mails and SMS's. None were answered. We have since discovered that some of the materials used were not as per the quote and were inferior to those quoted. We would like to advise anyone using them not to take anything in good faith, but to make sure everything is in writing and confirmed in writing. Do not make any payments until the work is done and up to standard. We made the mistake of making payments in good faith and all payments have been made and now we sit with an unfinished cabin.
