Poor Customer Service

On 16th December 2016 I visited Tangled Hair and Nail Studio in Midrand, to have my hair permed because I wanted natural looking curls like a picture I showed the hairdresser, Seema. A week after the perm I noticed that my curls looked like waves and they started opening out (during the course of the day), some places of my hair looked straight like it was never permed. When I contacted the salon to advise them of what had happened as I was on holiday at the time I advised them I would pay them a visit on 8 January 2017 to enquire and seek advice, I was advised that this was the look I requested and that my hair was too heavy that’s why the curls were opening, Seema further stated that I requested for the specific rollers that were used but I agreed with whatever she said she was going to do because all I wanted was for my hair to look like the picture I showed her. They cut my hair in order for the curls to look more defined, and further app**** some of the salon products onto my hair too see if the curls stay however on the next day they opened.... The initial hairstyle looked nothing like picture even though the hairdressers insisted that it does and that it was what I wanted. After the haircut my hair looked a lot worse because it is now a lot shorter.

When I spoke to the owner Tess she advised me that I would have to PAY for a reperm as it was no fault of theirs because they can see that the curls are there (They fail to realise that it’s not what I requested for). Seema told me to try using hairgel in my hair to keep my hair curly – This is not a very professional way of trying to assist. They don’t seem to care because they’re not the ones walking around with damaged hair. I’m sure any girl will understand the disappointment of having hair damaged by a salon and not knowing how to attend to it on their own.

After trying to make Tess understand my disappointment about my hair, she advised me that she can reperm my hair between the 12th and 20th of January, when I questioned her if this would damage my hair as it will be so soon after the initial perm she agreed that it would - I do not think this is professional as she does not have any regard for the health of my hair.

I was so upset that Tess wanted to reperm my hair knowing that it will cause more damage than good – I expected her to at least tell me to wait a few months and then come back to the salon to get it repermed but this was not the case, I could see that they just wanted to get rid of me because I was no longer an asset to the salon.

I sent her an email on13th January 2017 stating that she can reperm my hair when my hair can be repermed or she can refund my money (R950). She (Tess) has ignored my emails and has not rep**** to date.

It seemed to me like the hairdressers at this salon are very inexperienced and have very poor customer service s****s even though they insist that they never had this problem in their 20years of experience.

I have previously permed my hair at a different salon and never had this problem before.

I strongly believed that I did not received value for money and feel that the service received from Tangled Hair Studio staff was very poor.

Please be advised that if you don’t want to encounter this type of “Quality” service try to resist the urge of going to Tangled Hair and Nail Studio.
