When personal issues affect professional decisions
I am sharing this as a serious and honest account of my experience with Talent International, where I was signed together with my children. What began as a positive working relationship changed completely after a personal breakdown in my relationship with the owner, who I had previously considered a friend. After this, communication stopped entirely and my children and I were no longer submitted for auditions or considered for opportunities we had previously been actively receiving. When I sought clarity, I was informed by the agency’s PA, Zandi, of allegations that I had acted improperly and was told I had “****** work behind the owner’s back.” I strongly and completely deny this. I was also told I had not paid for a “lifetime contract,” despite having paid all agency fees in full for myself and my children. As a freelance makeup artist for the agency, I was booked for full-day shoots involving extensive travel, long hours on set, and completing makeup for multiple models in a single day. Despite the workload, I felt the compensation did not fairly reflect the amount of work required. It was also deeply concerning that my children’s contracts were cancelled after a personal disagreement, rather than any professional review, discussion, or transparent process. This raised serious concerns about how decisions are made within the agency. The agency presents itself as being guided by Christian values, which made the way communication and disputes were handled feel even more contradictory in my personal experience. I am left with the clear impression that representation and opportunities can change abruptly based on personal relationships rather than consistent professional standards. My advice to any parent or aspiring talent is to proceed with extreme caution and ensure you fully understand not just the contract, but also how the agency operates when personal relationships or disagreements arise — because that is where the true structure of professionalism is revealed.
