Two Items of Clothing ******

<p>Checked-out of the hotel at approximately 12:30. After two hours my wife and I realised that we had left behind a jersey and a pair of jeans in the cupboard in my hotel room. Phoned the Taj at approximately 15:30, gave them my details and informed them that we had left the clothes behind. They called back and stated that the cleaning staff had not found anything. I informed them repeatedly that the clothing was definitely left behind and that whichever staff member entered the room after we checked-out must have taken the clothing.</p> <p> </p> <p>After numerous phone calls to the hotel and about a week later, the head of security called back and informed me that he had not been notified of the incident earlier but that he would investigate it (a week later). The member of staff who entered the room to clean after we checked-out had not been at work the previous week. He informed me further that when the person returns to work they would be sent for a polygraph test. It has now been another five days since this call and I have had no feedback and no resolution.</p> <p> </p> <p>The hotel promotes itself as a premium establishment. It is disappointing that its staff help themselves to guests' property and the hotel does not seem to take incidents seriously. The items of clothing were left behind by mistake - instead of taking them, the cleaning staff should have turned them in to lost and found. It is doubtful whether anything ever ends-up at lost & found at this hotel.</p>
