Violation of the popi act

I wanted to purchase some furniture and asked for a pensioner discount. I was told I had to fill in a form with all my personal details, eg ID number, signature and a disclaimer. I felt I was bul**** into giving them very personal information. The popi act doesn't seem to apply at this horrible place. Needlessto say but I left the furniture behind and walked out.
