Unfair business/bad service

I bought 2 beds at Tafelberg Furnishers to the value of R8900. Whilst opening the first bed to set it up, i noticed that the quality is not what i expected. I left the other bed in its package and decided to send it back. i spoke to the store manager Andrew and explained i slept on the one bed for one night, but the other one wasn't opened. He said I could return the beds to the warehouse or the store, but there might be a handling fee of about 10% if they're not entirely satisfied with the condition of the beds. It could be less, but they normally charge 10%. I decided to send it back to the warehouse as it was more convenient and it was the choice i had. I had full confidence to send the beds back, because there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. After returning the beds, i was informed that I would need to pay 15% handling fee, for both beds, eventhough the one was not opened. This amounts to R1300. Needless to say, i'm shocked, unhappy, unpleasanlty suprised and completely disappointed. I asked why it is so much, there was nothing wrong with the beds. Andrew explained that the beds (both, eventhough the one was not opened), are now second hand, they had to order it (which was a lie, because they had it in stock - i could collect it on the Monday already and i bought it the previous Friday), they cant sell it again, etc, etc. and they're going to lose. I feel they are being ridiculous and unfair to make me pay a handling fee of 15% on an unopened product. I feel people should be made aware of this kind of operation and they they should think twice and make sure of returns policies before buying anything, from any store for that matter. I did not know Tafelberg Furnishers to operate like this. I bought the same bed from them about 20 years ago and i handed it down to my daughter, whose still using it, that's how i trusted the brand and the store. This means i have to take the beds back and be stuck with something that's not going to last me very long.
