Coning and *****ing from Customers

have had a very upsetting experience today at the Bellville Branch on Durban Road.

On Sunday, 17th March 2019 I purchased a R9999.99 Samsung refrigerator under the pretence of a sales person that the Height was 1700mm. When collecting the refrigerator from the warehouse department I was asked to inspect the refrigerator under dim lighting and a confined space.

When returning home, the refrigerator did not fit in the allocated space. I then measured the refrigerator myself and found that the height was not 1700mm as mentioned but rather 1789mm.

I was only able to return the refrigerator today, 20th March 2019. Upon returning the refrigerator in the original packaging and unused to the Warehouse department, they did an extremely thorough inspection under very clear lighting and ample space with no obstructions unlike when I collected it.

They are now claiming that I scratched and dented the refrigerator and I am now being held liable for a 15% handling fee.

I am appalled by this allegation. Had I had the same lighting and space prior to collecting the refrigerator I would have also spotted the scratches and dents.

Above losing R1500. 00 to handling fees, not caused by myself, I am still waiting for the R8500. 00 refund 3 hours later.

I do not appreciate how the matter has been dealt with and advise people to be very careful when collecting and returning goods to them.
