Vehicle damaged

Vehicle transport from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. Bought a spotless vehicle in Cape Town and used TAC to transport it to PE. On collection I was taken to the vehicle to do an inspection. I walked around the vehicle and everything looked good and I signed the vehicle check sheet. When I got home I noticed a long deep scratch on the door and also saw that the side mirror plastic housing was cracked. Long story short, because I signed the check sheet I am responsible for the damage.
