ITS ABOUT THE MONEY NOT ABOUT THE PET!!

I am terribly disappointed about the attitude of the Tableview Animal Hospital. My sister recently brought in her 13 year old Labrador, who had a big cancerous (it was presumed) growth. The vet examined the dog and stated that the tumor was a cancerous growth. He stated it was a very fast growing cancer and that the tumor had to be removed immediately as if the tumor burst the dog would die.

The operation was scheduled for a few days time and the tumor removed. When we came to fetch the dog the next day, we were shocked at the bandaging and the massive wound that was protruding from the badly wrapped bandage. The dog was in extreme pain and she went there back twice to get re bandage at a cost of R550 and another R880.

Eventually in complete distress my sister went to Panarama Vet who said the wound was infected and tried to repair some of the damage done. Unfortunately they lost their dear pet and were completely distraught.

This exercise cost them R10 000 at Tableview and another R10000 at Panarama Vet.

I find it distressing that they could recommend an operation like this for a dog of that age without even doing any test to see if it was indeed cancer and to check the extent of the cancer before butchering this dear dog and leading to her dying in agony. All because these vets wanted to make MONEY. They say they care about Animals - I think they care about their own bank balance. When I went on to their Website it was not surprised to see plenty of very unhappy customers.
