Heartbroken & disgusted FurMom

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS VET IF YOU LOVE YOUR FURKIDS, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY!! Worst experience of our lives!! The staff have NO compassion or interest in the welfare of the animals they treat or their owners. I am emotionally broken after our last visit 4 weeks ago and STILL burst into tears every time I think of the ordeal. Our fur baby was PTS unnecessarily, which was confirmed by two other vets, as well as a well-known and trusted feline rescue organization. She was diagnosed with Feline Leukaemia, but was not showing any symptoms yet apart from her pale gums, so with the correct care could have lived for a number of years. The manner in which we were told was heartless and cold and when we asked if there was ANYTHING that could be done for her, we were told NO, Euthanasia was the only option. Apart from this, the manner in which we were treated by the woman in reception, because I couldn't pay immediately, was shocking! We had been there in August 2018 with our boy who we had unfortunately lost, and had paid the account of R2 700 immediately, so it wasn't as if they didn't know us or have a history of our previous visits! The treatment we received back then was not much better, but I went back to them only because they knew us and I needed Miah checked out urgently. We were told I could not to leave the premises until I had paid the account. My best friend who was with us tried speaking to them as I was too distraught, but they were so rude to her too! Eventually after about 20 minutes of crying & trying to raise the R1 300, my phone went flat, so they got me sign an acknowledgment of debt and let me leave. My son, who has Asperger’s was equally traumatised by the whole experience. Since this, I have heard so many horror stories regarding this place, I cannot believe they are still in business! Disgusting….
