******!
I bought a one-way ticket to Brazil and an onward ticket because I had plans to go on holiday to Salvador Bahia, and then later to Curitiba to study in 2024. I got the TAAG ticket through and agent. On my departure day, TAAG allowed me to check myself into the flight some days before the departure day, and then efused me boarding on the departure day. I called the agent from OR Tambo airport and they refused to get involved, but TAAG itself refused me boarding even though I was checked in, and their customer service centre, they told me that they could not help me. I approached the regional manager and CEO, none responded to me. I lost a lot of money not just on the plane ticket that they did not allow me to use, but I also lost a lot of money on the holiday lodging and activities that I had already paid in advance. I still have the e-Ticket for that flight. TAAG brushed me off. They did not offer to credit me in any way at all. I lost around R 10 000 on the flight that I was not allowed to board. During the same time, while at the airport, an Agolan man was being refused boarding too. They wanted him to pay more money so he can fly home, the South African staff at the airport.. In my case, the airport staff demanded I buy a new ticket and I could not top up the one I have already bought. Since then, the agent erased the flight history from their records and TAAG claimed to have not received any money for it form the agent. My question is, if you did not receive money, how come you invited me to check myself in. Before refusing me boarding, I was bombarded with email requesting that I upgrade to Business class. A ***** airline I would say. ******** and *****ed to treat customers this way! They should have advised me not to buy a one-way if that was the problem, I would have gladly topped up the ticket.
