STAY AWAY, LOST ALL MY DATA,DID NOT DO A SIMPLE BACK-UP!!!!!!!!

<p>I asked Syrex to increase my memory on my Business Server, by adding a bigger hard drive. Plain and simple!!They quoted me and I accepted. Firstly, Syrex changed the incorrect drive on the Firewall Sever which was in perfect working order, then their technician Davean(don't let this guy touch your PC, he knows nothing) came and changed a 300Gb SAS drive that was in raid 5,with a 1TB SATA drive, and the rest is history.THEY LOST ALL MY DATA!!Quoted me to do a BACKUP BEFORE DOING THE CHANGE OVER,BUT THEY NEVER DID A BACKUP AND LOST EVERYTHING!! IS THIS NOT THE GOLDEN RULE IN THE IT WORLD "BACKUP,BACKUP,BACKUP"????</p> <p>I asked them on several occasions where the backup was that they quoted me for, so that I can restore the backup , but got NO ANSWERS.</p> <p>I then had to pay for a "Recovery software" to recover my data, that SYREX LOST!!!My business was crippled for a whole month and as a result have suffered a major loss of income. After getting another IT Company (DMT IT SOLUTIONS, very professional and helpfull) to assist me and get me back up and running, Ralph Berndt then send me a Invoice for R54 000.00 (for work they did to try and correct the mess they made), and threatend me with lawyers letters from a Law firm, Berndt and La vita Attorneys (AUDREY BERNDT), how convenient, HIS WIFE IS A LAWYER!!! I then referred the matter to my lawyer and app**** for an urgent High Court Rulling, as my whole business was disrupted because of SYREX's *********** STAFF. Ralph's wife quickly responded, that Syrex will release me from my contractual obligations, which by the way one NEED TO READ VERY CAREFULLY AS THEIR contract renews automatically AND THEY ARE NOT HELD RESPONSABLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS!!!BUT GROSS NEGLIGENCE IS A DIFFERENT STORY!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY LIE, THEY ARE ***********, THEY OVERCHARGE AND RALPH USES HIS LAWYER WIFE TO TRY AND THREATEN YOU!! I WAS ALSO PAYING FOR A "NEOTEL" LINE WICH WAS NEVER IN USE, AS THEY COULD NOT SUPPLY ME WITH A USAGE STATEMENT!!!! BE VERY CAREFUL!!!STAY AWAY!!!!</p>
