Unacceptable service / business model by Syntech

I bought a Gizzu 518 Wh Portable Power station from a reseller. The importer of the device is Syntech. I accidentally kicked against the power input socket of the device which bent the outer side of the socket that is plugged into the unit. This also cause a chip (not grater than 1 mm) on the outside of the unit. This was a month and a half ago. The unit was still functioning 100% up until last night. I called the reseller to confirm the warranty as I had the unit for 3.5 months. I contacted Syntech directly and took the unit to their offices in Samrand. The person in "charge" - John responded with handing the unit back to me stating that the warranty was voided because of the chip in the outer housing of the unit. I asked him to just make use of a spare power supply to check the functionality of the system on which his response was that they have no spares. I said that I would pay for the repair, even though the chip in the outer housing had nothing to do with the functionality of the system. His response was - we do not carry spares as it is uneconomical to repair. The unit cost me R 6500.00. As I have an electronic background I can with 100% surety say that the unit will be modular. The repair of this unit would thus according to me not be uneconomical. I made the statement that I now basically have a 3.5 month old R 6 500.00 paper weight which he basically confirmed. Their busyness model is thus one of box dropping. If you have a problem and the unit has no physical damage (in my case a small chip) they might change the unit under warranty. I once again asked the question of what happens after the 1 year warranty - say something small goes wrong with the unit, what then. Same response it is uneconomical to repair. I do not think this is fair to all their customers and this should actually be stated in their terms and conditions that their busyness model is one of box dropping with no after sales service once your product is out of warranty. The question that I now have is, is the following - is this kind of "service" applicable to all products that is supp**** by Syntech ???????
