No cash refund on a holding deposit for a car

Good day Iv got a big issue with this car dealership synman auto newlands I put 10 thousand on a car as deposit I could not gather the rest of the cash I asked for my deposit back nothing was explained to me of no refund Godwin accepted my money in cash I called him 4days later for a refund I was told I wont get my money back please assist me
