Sygnia mocks Black people
Myciti busses in the city have sygnia stickers on them captioned 'investmentfeesmustfall'.

This is total appropration of the student protests that have been taking place that am to decolonise the country. This slogan make's mockery of black pain and realities.

The fact this 'mustfall' is used for advertising is in fact ANTI-decolonial as it is aimed a producing more revenue, a capitalist strategy.

Sygnia never showed its support for the movement, but feels happy to ***gyback of the movement's success and popularity.

CHANGE THE SLOGAN.
not doing so is disrespecting the reality of most of the country's people and aims to maintain the status quo of white supremacy.

We value and appreciate your feedback.
Allow us to give you some context. Sygnia is an asset management company which offers all South Africans the lowest-cost savings and investment products in the country. Our business strategy is one of reducing costs -in particular, investment fees. We do so very materially. An average fee in the asset management industry is 2.5% per annum. Our fees are 0.4% per annum.
Lower investment fees are relevant to all South Africans -students included. One of the primary reasons students cannot afford university fees is that their parents or caretakers cannot afford to pay those fees as they do not have sufficient savings. Part of the reason is that, even if they do save, a large portion is consumed by investment fees. This is why the debate around investment fees in South Africa is so important -and, in fact, impacts indirectly on the affordability of university fees. Our marketing campaign extends the awareness of the essential issue of fees to other areas of our economy.
As for Sygnia, we are very supportive of wider access to quality education for all and do not take your plight lightly.
We wish you the very best for the 2016 academic year.
