Poorly trained, emotionally-absent instructors

We took our 17 month old to Swimmatix expecting a fun, playful environment in which she could enjoy the water. However, what we found was a regimented routine that each child is expected to follow - even if they are screaming with discomfort. When wanting to remove our daughter, we were told not to get involved and to rather make ourselves invisible! We were also told to continue lessons no matter how much our daughter cries because 'eventually, it will stop'. This is counter-intuitive to my mother-instinct and to what my background in Psychology says about child wellbeing and healthy emotional attachment. In summary, Swimmatix should focus on teaching swimming (which, children can only really learn after the age of 4 years old!) and not pretend to be experts on children's psycho-emotional development.
