AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS - Cheaper in CT

18/6/ 14: Car overheated. Malgas garage (CT to PE)<br> 20/6: Piet called to advise major damage - 2 options. Repair @ R12,500 (good for 6 months) OR VW 1600 recon-engine for R21,500 (good for 4-5 years). Went 2nd option & paid just over 50% deposit SAME DAY.<br> 28/29 Jun: Car was meant to be ready for me to collect. I called Fri to check & he said he'd call back. Never did. When I called Sat he was out hunting & said he would bring car through to CT Tue (1 July).<br> 30/6: Mailed him directions to office.<br> 1 & 2 July: NO WORD AND NO SHOW<br> 3/7: General avoidance. Not picking up phones. Responded to sms late pm blaming telkom. Home time I sms'd again when he rep**** there had been problem with electronics. He would bring car following day.<br> 4/7: Not a word from Piet. Called him 1pm & he said he was a few kms away. He arrived as offices closing just before 4pm in pouring rain. In good faith paid remainder of invoice - which he didn't have with him. Mailed me PATHETIC invoice which had NO detail of work done & no engine no (or paperwork for traffic dept)<br> 5/7: 22 hours later CAR BROKE DOWN.<br> Did not even change spark plugs, filters - nor did he check timing, aircon compressor, oil or engine mountings
