I would not recommend Swatex/UPC security to anyone. Last year(2025) we had several instances where our alarm had been activated and we had not received any calls from them. When I finally called them, I was informed that our profile and contact details were changed to people who we do not know. This had been fixed at the time, and we again stopped receiving calls when the alarm was activated. I then sent them a cancelation email, and was told by Wilma that I needed to pay an "early cancelation fee" of R2300, as the "month-to-month" contract I signed up for with Robbie was actually a 3 year binding contract. We then miraculously started getting called again when our alarm had been activated. Fast forward to the last few months, and they are back to their usual MO. But this time around, none of their contact number work and they all seem to be disconnected. I had received no response from them on my latest cancelation email that I sent on both the 1st of August and another on the 4th of August; and when I finally got through to someone on the phone, I was told they would get back to me on Monday the 10th of August 2026, which is a public holiday! They are quick to increase and send you statements, but completely fail as a reliable security company.
