BMW owners BEWARE of SVG Autoworks - use them at your peril!

March 2023 my BMW went to them for a timing chain replacement which they did. I was in the process of selling my BMW X1 and the salesman took the car for a test drive after the new timing chain was fitted - it broke down and had to be towed back to SVG they said the oil had sludged up and the cam shaft and journals needed engineering - i had already purchased a new car thinking the BMW would be repaired by end March and sold, however, it is now Feb 2024 the BMW is still not drivable. SVG repaired 1 journal then another then another and so it went on finally on Nov 15 they advised me the car was ready i collected it and it broke down again on Koeberg road and had to be towed - by this time i'd lost total confidence in them to do the repair properly and had it towed to another mechanic where it still is - needs a new engine ie the same repair that SVG supposedly did??? I made a complaint in December with the Motor Ombud and they treated the Ombud exactly same as me ie ignored him and didn't respond to his emails and hence ombud closed my case!!! SVG Shaun and Robin just don't respond to emails etc. They call themselves BMW specialists - what a joke. I'm out of pocket by the repairs of around R60K and double car payments for 1 year - this has been the most horrible experience all round. I have lost total confidence in their ability to repair my car.
