Nightmare experience
Good Morning
I wish to bring this matter to your attention with hope and trust that my complaint will be resolved to the amicably. With a lot of excitement and trust, I bought a vehicle from your dealership in October 2020 which was advertised online. Besides my love for the car brand, I was specifically looking for a reliable car that will give me comfort, safety, reliability with lower mileage and manufacture warranty. When I visited the dealership I was assisted by Ian who informed me that the car was in good conditions and still carried manufacture warranty as it was a demo model. Finance was arranged through ABSA Motor finance and I took delivery of the car on 02 October 2020.
My first concern was that there was no spare key and I found it difficult to understand as this was fairly a new car. I was told that the spare key will be arranged and be made available to me. This never happened, despite my numerous enquiries and undertakings being made that I will get the key. Few days later I started noticing the PDC light on indicating that there is a fault on the system, passenger airbag light was on and indicating the airbag was faulty. I took it to Audi The Glen for repairs believing that the car is still under manufacturer’s warranty, but they informed me that free way plan cannot cover those repairs as the car was previously involved in an accident which caused damage. This was shocking to me as dealership assured me that the car was never involved in an accident. I informed the dealership about the feedback I got from Audi, and the dealership undertook to attend to the repairs and I dropped off the car at Suzuki on the 7 December 2020 and collected it back on the 10 December 2020 but the problems persisted. Soon thereafter still in December 2020 another problem surfaced as I started to get warning lights of low coolant. I topped up the coolant, I drove for about a week and the light came on again. I kept on toping up the coolant until I spoke to a service adviser at Audi who informed me that it was not normal to top up every week.
I decided to take the car to Hatfield Audi Centre in Rivonia for the car to be repaired. They also confirmed that the car was in an accident and repairs done were not in accordance with the Audi standards. After market parts were used and the workmanship was poor. Audi`s warranty is voided and they will not proceed with the repairs. This is huge issue as it is apparent that I was sold a defective car which does not even meet the safety standards and more concerning is the dishonesty from the dealership.
I have returned to the dealership and contacted my Bank to inform them of the situation as I am not willing to continue with the contract as the vehicle is clearly defective and trust is lost to even entertain the idea of replacing the vehicle with another one. I need the contract to be cancelled, and for all the financial loss and inconvenienced caused to be paid back to me as a matter of urgency as this is causing me a huge inconvenience. I am now without a car and need this transaction to be concluded so that I can buy myself a car with a reputable dealer . I have never experienced this level of dishonesty and poor service and do not take the matter lightly. Today the dealership hasn't given me any progress feedback. This institute *****, please assist
