Bad After Sales Service

I bought my secondhand car cash on the 10 March 2020 for Suzuki Boksburg. On the 6/02/2020 when I wanted to test drive it, the battery was completely dead. So they asked if I can come back the next day to give them time to charged it. I went on the 7th, test drove it and decided that I will buy it. The salesman at the time spoke to the Manager, Mr Preveshen Moodley, in my presence about replacing the battery as they said it was old, as well as fixing the window chips, back seat belt cover, to give me a jack and a wheel spanner for the car, and he agreed to it. I took possession of the vehicle on Monday being told that this will be done. Then lockdown happened. After lockdown I contacted the salesman about the things that needed to be done on the car. He said he will contact me. This was all done on whatsapp. I did received a jack from him.

Needless to say when I got stuck with the vehicle because of the battery the salesman no longer worked there and the manager said he does recall the conversation, but unfortunately if I don not have anything in writing he can not help me. I was really upset and thought this was such bad service just because I do not have it in writing and the salesman in not working there anymore they can just say, SORRY YOUR PROBLEM. The same thing happened about the jack and wheel spanner. When I got stuck with a flat, it was to realize that the jack does not even lift my vehicle so it was the wrong jack and I had no wheel spanner. Neither have the ever fixed the windscreen chips and my seatbelt cover. This is actually unbelievable that the can just get away with things like that and there is nothing I can do about it according to them. Basically do not believe any salesman and his manager saying anything to you make sure you got it on paper with signatures or else it sorry it your problem.
