Suzuki Ignis Issues
My husband and I both own a Suzuki Ignis, I have the GL and he has the GLX, but I wouldn't recommend buying these cars. What a major regret! We have had endless issues with his car. The **** started when we sent it in for its 45000km service at Suzuki Tableview and besides the fact that they didn't even have basic service parts like a fuel filter and pollen filter, and in hindsight also not the right spark plugs, the car came back with intermittent jerking issues. We made contact and took the car in only to be told the clutch needs to be replaced at R8000. I personally couldn't understand how it could be the clutch, especially on a brand new car but they insisted and at the same time said the warranty won't cover it and we will need to pay. I was furious and told my husband to take it to another dealership to check it out and all the while this jerking issue persisted. We then took it to Suzuki Tygervalley to ask to check what could be wrong and at the same time decided to do the 60000km service, now you must know we had driven this car for almost 20000km with this issue cause we didn't have R8000 to replace something that wasn't faulty and just didn't believe that this was the problem. Suzuki Tygervalley then serviced the car but were unable to diagnose the issue because their diagnostic machine wasn't working. I had to call them to find out what was going on. Eventually we took the car in again to put it on the diagnostic machine to figure out the problem and was told it might be the fuel pump (R3500) but we will have to pay half because the warranty won't cover it. Again this should not be a problem on a brand new car. They called us a few days before the fuel pump was supposed to arrive to ask to check if it was the fuel relay but 2 days later they called my husband to say they think it might be the spark plugs and realized that Suzuki Tableview had put the wrong spark plugs in the car when they serviced it initially. Absolutely pathetic! How do you do that? Surely these guys should know which spark plugs belong to this car? They then changed it and the car was a bit better but still not right. We took it in again and asked them to drive the car for a week to see what it does and figure out what was causing the issue, though it was better it was still not 100%, and was told that they couldn't find anything and had to fetch the car again. Here we are still, sitting with the same problem and now it's becoming worse. Today while we were driving with our family back from Stellenbosch it was jerking all the way and was smelling like something was burning! Even my son asked what's wrong with the car?!?! We have to keep driving this messed up car to and fro and waste our time only to be told there's nothing wrong. There is something wrong! There's something big wrong! Take the car back then if there's nothing wrong with it and sell it to someone else. What a massive regret! We used to be avid Suzuki fans but this has changed our loyalty towards this brand, honestly. Do something!
