New Suzuki Swift epic fail
After the initial excitement of my first new car a Suzuki Swift GL+MT and the initial good service during the sale from Suzuki Ladybrand, I have to say that I am severely disappointed in the product. How can a car fail you after 2 months! Car received on 1/11/2024 and broke down on 30/12/2024. The car had to be towed in by AA and I am thankful for that, but the Bethlehem dealership failed to contact me with updates. Today only they contacted me after I asked the Ladybrand dealership to follow up on the progress. They then proceeded to ask me to give my permission to open the clutch and gearbox to check what the problem might be. How is it possible that they need my permission to check on a car that is still under warranty and left me standing next to a dangerous road after they promised to call me back on 31/12/2024? I am not a mechanic. Now they want to see if it was my wrong doing that caused the car to break down. No new car should leave you next to the road after just 2 months of ownership. Oil, water and tyres were checked, it had a full tank of petrol and I had every reason to believe that a new car should not fail me. I am a very responsible driver and was looking for a small car to serve me for the next 7 years at least. However, on the first long distance trip, this hope was shattered.
I would strongly discourage people from buying the new Suzuki Swift as it fails on its promise to be a reliable car.
