Surrey Hills Complex - Carlswald

We ended our lease with Surrey Hills managed by Paradigm property developments in June 2024z And the exit was handled so unprofessionally and *********ly. 1. The comparison between ingoing and exit inspection was not done properly done which led to us being charged for damages that were already there before moving in. 2. We received about 45% of our deposit back due to being charged for painting each room for close to or above R1000 for each room. Only an ‘invoice’ was provided to us and not actual receipts or Proof of Payment to supplier with dates to eliminate any doubt. Painting is regarded as upkeep by the way which you are by law NOT supposed to charge to the tenant. 3. They tried to charge us for ‘damage’ to a wall that they only noticed, conveniently after we have left. 4. We requested a bank statement of the interest bearing account where the deposit was kept. We obtained a written out statement which we believe was fabricated with no bank stamp. Again, they did not care if we are satisfied with it or not.

What a way to treat people who have stayed there for 3 years. The agent Annali handled this very poorly and did not show any care in our concerns. It was just business. I’m extremely disappointed and would never advise anyone to stay here.
