Almost ****med :(

We found an add on gumtree for a 3bed duplex that suited our very little budget. Perfect for our little family of 3. I called the number listed and started talking to the man name Ugo about the place. From the get go there were many questions about our finances and employment, I found it unusual but brushed it off to just them being wary of affordability.

We went the same day to look at the home and instantly fell inlove and app****. There was a lot of back and forth with the application but we got all the requested documents and information sent through and we were so excited. We were added to a whatsapp group with his wife and this is how we communicated. We spent ages following up on the application status and providing any information requested some being a little unnecessary.

We were then told to come and view another unit as he felt it would be better suited to us. I went through and he only then advised that they already gave the others away and this would be the one we HAD to take. We were disappointed but agreed and asked when he would be done with renovations. He originally wanted us in Nov 30th but he then decided Dec 30th. Great we gave in our notice. Days passed and the lease was supposed to be ready but never came.

I then requested just to receive the complex rules while we wait. This was seen as irregular and we were accused of wanting to change the rules and we would go and use them elsewhere. He then said we could have them if we paid a partial deposit. Being cautious I refused as this surely isn't standard procedure ( I phoned an agent.. It was very irregular)

Since refusing to pay the partial deposit without the lease we have been given a run around and been thrown many excuses. Today I was yelled at and told that the place would probably only be done in Feb and I would have to come up with plan B.

My advice, avoid this person at all costs! Poor communication s****s and not an ounce of professionalism. Please do not give any money without paperwork! I am glad that I was smart enough not to!
