Extremely poor customer service and unacceptable management behaviour I am extremely disappointed by my experience at SUPERSPAR Zambezi, Cnr Sefako Makgatho Dr & Moloto Rd, Derdepoort, Pretoria. I purchased a C***** Plain Double Cream Yogurt that was displayed with a price tag of R42.99. At the till, I was told that the price was R49.99. I pointed out that the R42.99 price was still clearly displayed and explained that I believed the advertised price should be honoured. Instead of handling the matter professionally, the manager's behaviour was completely unacceptable. He swore at me, used the F-word, banged the till and spoke to me in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Rather than attempting to resolve the issue professionally, I was effectively told to “take it or leave it.” This is completely unacceptable behaviour from someone in a managerial position. A customer should not be subjected to profanity, ************ or aggression simply for questioning a price discrepancy. What makes this particularly concerning is that this was not simply a disagreement over a few rand. It was about basic customer service, accountability and respect. If the store displays a price of R42.99 and the till reflects R49.99, the matter should be dealt with professionally—not by swearing at the customer and banging the till. I am therefore escalating this complaint beyond the individual store and requesting that SPAR Head Office investigate this incident. I would like Head Office to establish what happened, review the conduct of the manager involved and provide a formal response regarding both the pricing discrepancy and the treatment I received as a customer. I also request that the store's management review its procedures for ensuring that shelf prices and till prices are consistent and that customers who raise legitimate complaints are treated with dignity and respect. SPAR Head Office: I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and investigated properly. A customer should never have to accept being sworn at, intimidated or disrespected simply for asking a store to honour or explain an advertised price. Extremely disappointing experience.

I visited SPAR Zambezi on Sunday at around 10:00 in the morning and was shocked by the condition of the food. The store had a strong unpleasant smell, and some of the food on display was visibly rotten, with foam on it. I reported this to a cashier, but her response was, “they sell rotten food here,” which was very concerning and unprofessional. This raises serious food safety concerns, especially considering it was still early in the day. I hope management investigates this urgently and ensures proper hygiene and quality standards are maintained.
