Bad quality

Good day I bought a pair of ladies shoes at the Superdry shop in Menlyn Mall for roughly 500 bucks... They were 50% off from 1000. The straps on both shoes have snapped and come apart. I literally wore them once and cannot seem to fathom why a shoe that cost me so much would result in such poor quality and workmanship.
