Bad customer service

I visited the store on Thursday 28th May hoping to get a free soccer ball with my purchase. The value of my goods was over R1000 as well as qualifying products. After paying the cashier advised that they out of stock with ***** and signed my slip saying I could come back when they get stock. I then went to the manager asking when they would be getting stock. He advised that head office cancelled the promotion and I would not be getting a ball. Not only is this false advertising but also bad customer service. Why was there no notice put up in the store then I would not have purchased there and gone to another store that had stock. It's clear that there are signs up with qualifying products and advertising the ball so y could they not put up a sign saying ko stock. The manager was also not apologetic or sympathetic towards me giving me the impression that vangate has poor customer service. I understood if there wasn't stock I can even understand if he had told me in a better way that head office cancelled the promotion but bacause he wasn't sincere about it I cannot except it. Not once did he say I'm sorry mam he just kept saying it's not him it's head office also shifting the blame. Wat kind of store manager shifts blame. I used to like going to vangate spar but will think twice before going to that store again.
