Bad Ford Ranger

Mr Shane Smart purchased a vehicle from Honda Midrand on Friday 02 September 2016. He did an inspection of the vehicle (fortunately) on Saturday 03 September 2016 and found a list of “issues” which he forwarded to the dealership. Their response and attitude is one of “passing the buck/not really interested” and I find that unacceptable.

Mr Smart then took the vehicle back to the Honda Midrand dealership on Thursday 8 September 2016 and, once faced with the severity of their situation, they took the vehicle back and cancelled the sale. Unfortunately Mr Smart is paying penalties etc for a vehicle that was a danger to drive. The whole reason he went through a dealership was to avoid issues like this.

The dealer principle, Rudo Kirsten, advised Mr Smart that they would “only pay back what we have received in payment”. The dealership in general seem to have a bad attitude and it looks like it stems from the DP himself. They have not been apologetic or understanding and are taking no blame in this matter what so ever. Extremely unprofessional.

It was only once Mr Smart threatened him with MIOSA did he request a breakdown of what Mr Smart has had to pay.

I feel this whole issue has been dealt with in a most unprofessional way and that you should be aware of the bad name some of your franchise people are giving the whole of Supergroup. I am just one of the many people that know about this situation.

What if it had been me who had purchased this vehicle? I have no mechanical background and this vehicle was not fit to pass any roadworthy test.

I would greatly appreciate you looking into this situation and responding.

That email was sent to SuperGroup complaints department in Friday 9 Septermber 2016. It is now Tuesday 13 September and we have had no response whatsoever!
