I recently took my car to supamac in bellville durban road to diagnose a problem with my car. They quickly suggested that my timing was set incorrect. Being a self taught mechanic i agreed they must repair it as that is a major problem. Then when they were done, the car was according to them better but not 100persent. They told me it was my high pressure fuel pump and it would cost over 25k to replace. I told them id rather get a second opinion. When i fetch the car the check engine light came back on. I took the car back and they said the timing is out again. This is after they apparently set it. Then they told me my cold start sensor was faulty. First warning was that my car does not make use of a cold start sensor. It just uses a ect sensor but i agreed that they must replace it as it would solve the issue confirmed by their owner Frik. Then when they were done the car was still not 100 persent. Then they said my vvt solonoid is faulty and needs replacement. I was not able to get one in time as the dealers dont have stock in sa. So i decided to fetch the car and wait for the part to arrive. The car had no difference. It was like the first time i took it there. When i got home i noticed oil on my garage floor. So i found the tapped cover bolts loose and stripped on one side resulting in oil spilling out. I found parts poorly put in the car , boost pipes loose , air box loose, a mounting plate missing. I had to go fetch my plate by them the following monday where they tried to comfort me by saying their foreman would sign a warning for his neglect. So i spend R6200 for nothing but stripped tapped cover bolts , poorly put together car and still the same issue i had when i took it in. Please just be careful. Im my opinion they dont have quality control or the equiptment to do intrecate fault finding.
