Terrible service

To Whom It May Concern, On 10 August 2026, I took my late father's Nissan 1400 to Supa Quick Greenstone to have a new exhaust system fitted. Later that day, Donovan contacted me and explained that the company responsible for bending the exhaust pipe had already closed, so the work could not be completed that day. As a result, I left the bakkie with them overnight. On 11 August 2026, I paid R4,000 through Payflex and collected the vehicle. As the work appeared to be completed and the vehicle was ready for collection, I did not think to inspect the exhaust system underneath the bakkie before leaving. On Sunday, 29 August 2026, I decided to inspect the work for myself. To my shock, I discovered extremely poor workmanship. There was even a metal rod stuck in the exhaust system, which I personally removed. The quality of the work was, to say the least, completely unprofessional.

On Monday, 31 August 2026, I returned the bakkie to Supa Quick Greenstone and raised my concerns with Donovan. I asked him whether he would be satisfied with work completed to this standard. He agreed that the work needed to be corrected and advised me that he would arrange for another welder to redo the installation and fit a new pipe. However, by 1 September 2026, the work was still not completed. I specifically instructed Donovan not to weld a new pipe onto the existing pipe. I stated that I wanted a completely new straight pipe installed from the manifold, with no unnecessary joins or welding on the pipe itself. Donovan assured me that he would contact me on 2 September 2026 with an update. Unfortunately, I received no call. When I attempted to contact him during the day, my calls went unanswered. When I arrived at the workshop, I discovered that the welder had already joined the new exhaust pipe to the old pipe, directly contrary to my instructions. When I questioned the welder about why he was welding the pipes together, I received no response. Donovan then informed me that this was "the best they could do." It became apparent to me that the reason they chose to weld the pipes together was that they did not want to replace the manifold gasket, which would have been required to install the exhaust system correctly. At this stage, I have lost confidence in the quality of the workmanship and the ability of Supa Quick Greenstone to rectify the matter properly. As a result, I am requesting a full refund for the work performed. Donovan informed me that he would need to discuss the matter with his manager after 9:00 a.m. on 3 September 2026. I am currently awaiting his call. I trust that this matter will be resolved promptly. Kind Regards, Justin
